Downtown Miami Weekend Traffic – Ultra Music Festival, Taste of Brickell

The weekend of March 24 and March 25 will bring over 200,000 people to the Downtown Miami area. With huge events including Ultra Music Festival and the Miami Taste of Brickell Food and Wine Festival, the streets will be packed.  Throw in performances at local venues including the Adrianne Arsht Center and American Airlines Arena, plus the Sony Ericsson Open happening in neighboring Key Biscayne and there’s bound to be traffic confusion.

Luckily, Met 1 residents live in the downtown Miami and can take advantage of either walking to events or utilizing public transportation with ease.  Due to the increase in traffic, the Metrorail and Metromover systems will run until 2:00am.

Take note of the traffic routes below and the following changes provided by the Miami Downtown Development Authority. You can also check out the entire schedule of Downtown Miami events for the weekend of March 24 to March 25.

• There will be a traffic detour along Biscayne Boulevard from through Monday, March 26, at 5:00 AM.
• Traffic along Biscayne Boulevard will be brought down to two lanes from SE 1 Street to NE 3 Street in both
directions.
• All north bound lanes will be closed and all traffic along Biscayne Boulevard will be shifted onto the south
bound lanes in a counter flow.
• Downtown businesses will be open as usual and Bayside and the Port of Miami will have all access as normal.
