Miami will tempt all the senses this coming weekend, with Downtown Miami’s Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival 2013, Miami Fashion Week, and Ultra Music Fest. The Magic City always provides the finest in entertainment; this weekend it seems to have gone above and beyond all expectations!
The 3rd Annual Miami Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival 2013
It’s finally here! Over 40 of Brickell and Downtown Miami’s finest restaurants will be offering samples of their menus for your gustatory pleasure at the historic Miami Circle on March 23 and 24, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the Taste of Brickell. Also available: fine wine and spirits from around the globe.
Activities include sampling of well-executed food and wonderful wine and spirits, exotic car show, live music all day, and an arts and crafts area for the kids. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade. This venerable organization serves over 10,000 girls and boys all year round.
Miami Fashion Week
A little farther away, Miami Fashion Week celebrates its 15th anniversary of presenting cutting edge as well as established local and international designers. Fashion Week kicks off Wednesday, March 20 and will be sharing beautiful design and fashion until Saturday, March 23. Opening night is a must-see, as well as the Fashion Collective Pop-Up Boutique Show, which is open to the public. Miami Fashion Week is held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and will showcase over 60 designers, 100 celebrity guests, and workshops led by industry insiders. It coincides with Miami Bridal Week.
Ultra Music Fest 2013
There is no avoiding Ultra Music Festival. Like Miami Fashion Week, it descended on our city 15 years ago and is now a world presence, producing electronic dance music festivals in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ibiza, Korea, and soon, Europe. This year’s Ultra Music Festival will be celebrated over two weekends; March 22 to the 24 our neighborhood will be jumping with beats and over 330,000 partygoers. DeadMau5, Armin Van Buuren, Calvin Harris, and many more acts will inspire dancers to amazing feats this weekend. The traffic may inspire you to other things, but keep calm and breathe. Tickets seem to be sold out, but plan for traffic around the downtown area by following the Ultra Music Festival 2013 traffic plan created by the City of Miami’s Police Department/Special Events Unit.
